Oxidative aging of asphalt is the ultimate long-term chronic failure mechanism which affects the molecular structure, composition and interactions between asphalt molecules. Improving the aging resistance is one way to significantly increase pavement longevity, reduce paving costs, and reduce CO2 emissions.
