Working with SET
Sustainable Emerging Technologies (SET) is a dedicated team of scientists, engineers and technicians devoted to advancing sustainable technologies from the initial concept to commercialization.
The SET team advances technologies with a “safety first” culture to protect staff, projects, and facilities
Advancing emerging technologies from bench scale through pilot scale studies
Specific heavy oil upgrading and conversion studies
Analytical services to support ongoing studies as well as third party analyses
Custom design of laboratory and pilot scale reactors and systems
Emerging Technology Development (ETD)
Technologies for conversion of municipal solid waste and other wastes to fuel and energy
Selected Past and Current Projects
WRI’s Renewable upcycling, carbon Materials and Asphalt Technologies (RenuMAT), formerly the Asphalt and Petroleum Technology (APT) group is a leader in asphalt, petroleum, coal and hydrocarbon research. The group has several decades of experience leading research at the federal level to characterize, diagnose and predict asphalt and heavy oil properties and performance, and thermal processing of heavy oils.
